Meet Our Technician

Matthew Moffatt is a Classically Trained Piano Technician, with over 25 years of experience. He comes from a family of Piano Experts, whose expertise ranges from Tunings and Repairs, to Appraisals, Buying and Selling of Pianos, as well as Refinishing and Refurbishing Pianos of all types, styles and ages.

Part of Matthew’s experience includes several years of working at the National Music Center (Formerly Cantos Music Foundation) in Calgary. There Matthew learned Historical Conservation and Restoration of Keyboard Instruments (Pianos, Forte Pianos, and Harpsichords).

More recently, Matthew has become one of only two authorized Steinway technicians in Calgary. He has attended training at the Steinway factory in New York City. Matthew is also an official Spirio Technician; SPIRIO is Steinways lastest and greatest self playing piano!

Matthew’s love for music spans all genres and generations. He has tuned for many well-known Artists, Concert Events, and Venues across Alberta and British Columbia. He believes Music is an important part of life, and that it plays a major role in forming who a person is, and who they become.

For that reason, Matthew is firmly dedicated to the idea that every Piano Player deserves to play on a well maintained Piano that sounds its best, despite the age, make, type, size, style or cost of the piano.
